Bike-to-Work Day 2013

Clear skies and a steady flow of riders that filled up the front and back of a sign-in sheet and a few spilled over onto another. Sixty to seventy riders made their way through our morning station at the 4th Street I-35 underpass collecting a goody bag, a KIND bar and coffee from Texas Coffee Traders!

It was fun to see and chat with all the riders as they came by. There was a fellow who was looking fine for Friday afternoon with multicolor socks and a great big cruiser that had a seat upholstered in blue velvet. Another fellow had several white pigeons in a cage on his back rack; he gave one to Jordan who released it. It circled around overhead and started heading home, the guy said that one would be pleased to get home and get food first. Random Austin folk never fail to amuse!

Later in the day Art and his daughter ran our afternoon station at Nelo’s Cycles in northwest Austin.

A big thanks to Austin Cycling Association for managing this excellent event!
