the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative and Cycle Academy to be a part of the 2015 Youth Bike Summit

We are very pleased to announce that the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative has been selected to present Cycle Academy at the 2015 Youth Bike Summit.

The 2015 Youth Bike Summit will be held in Seattle, WA at Bike Works from February 13th through the 15th. The presentation will be made by the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative Founder & Executive Director Christopher Stanton.

Cycle Academy is a structured educational program geared toward youth cyclists concentrating on bicycle riding, safety, and maintenance skills. It focuses on hands-on learning, self-sufficiency, developing a healthy lifestyle by integrating bicycling into daily activities, and community service. The curriculum is split into subject-specific badges, each of which focuses on a single skill or task.

The Youth Bike Summit is an annual three-day national conference bringing together educators, advocates, activists, students, teenagers, practitioners, researchers, policy makers, and community leaders to engage around youth, bicycles, education, and advocacy. It brings people together from different disciplines and backgrounds to network, learn, and explore how the bicycle is a catalyst for positive social change.

We look forward to sharing our experience and programs with the fellow attendees and participants at the Youth Bike Summit 2015. The full program is available here: http://youthbikesummit.org/program-2015/
