It was a special day at Mendez MS Bike Club. The students got to explore new areas and 1 student received a top honor. The class headed out for Onion Creek Park. They rode the familiar course quickly and had extra time when they reached their destination. Rather than just hanging out, they decided to cross the creek and explore the woods on the otherside. They carried the bikes over and found a whole bunch of new trails. They felt like the first people to find the trails and had fun in the new area. The novelty of the day didn’t stop there. The class rode back along a previously unknown route through the neighborhoods around the school. Not even a little rain could dampen their spirits. At the end of class, Myron earned his Level 1 badge. He is now the 6th student to earn the coveted badge at Mendez Middle School. Great job guys!
